Due to changes in State Law that became effective July 1, 2009, the following requirements must be met for all Indiana State University students who are participating in program in school corporations, including, but not limited to Vigo County Schools.
NOTE: If you completed a criminal history check through Certified Background last year, you do NOT need to participate in this process.
Log on to www.certifiedbackground.com and click Applicants.
In the package code box, enter ND56B.
Select a method of payment: Visa, MasterCard or money order. Cost is $12. Credit card will provide quicker results.
You will be provided a password and username. After approximately 48 hours, you can log on to the site again and retrieve your results.
Print off a copy of your results page for your own records.
Log on to https://in.ibtfingerprint.com
Choose English (or Spanish).
Enter your name
Choose “All Others” from the drop down menu
Choose “NCPA Volunteer Background Check” from the drop down menu
Choose “Indiana State University College of Education” from the drop down menu
Enter your zip code to find a site for finger printing
Make an appointment
Fill out information. While you are here, you can pay on the website if you would like to use a credit or debit card. If you choose to pay in person, you must pay with a money order. Regardless of payment method, the fee is $39.20.
Results will be sent to you and to Education Student Services.
