Drake Praxis Award and Drake Textbook Award

New students in any teacher education program may qualify to receive the Drake Praxis Award and/or the Drake Textbook Award. To receive an award, newly entering students must have passing Praxis I scores upon their arrival to Indiana State University. Official scores must be on file in the Education Student Services (ESS) Office (located in University Hall Room 115).

The Drake Praxis Award is a $100.00 one time award for any newly entering freshmen or transfer student that is declared in a teacher education major and has passed all sections of the Praxis I examination at the required level for licensure in the state of Indiana. Again, official scores must be verified an on file in the ESS Office to receive the award.

The Drake Textbook Award is a $400.00 one time award for any newly entering transfer student that has obtained an Associate’s Degree, is declared in a teacher education major, and has passed all sections of the Praxis I examination at the required level for licensure in the state of Indiana. Again, official scores must be verified an on file in the ESS Office to receive the award.

Students will be required to submit verification forms to receive the award, and these will be provided to new students near the beginning of each semester.
