As an undergraduate student in one of our programs you will:
Be better prepared for a career in education. You will be
provided extensive filed experiences throughout the
programs, beginning during your first semester and
continuing through your student teaching experience. From
the first class you take in our undergraduate program(s),
you will be working with children either in a public school
classroom, our early childhood center, or at a public
agency.
Be provided with a full semester of
professional experience prior to student teaching. Through
our unique TOTAL (Teachers of
Tomorrow Advancing Learning) program
undergraduate majors in elementary education and elementary
/ special education have the opportunity to spend three to
five days a week in an elementary classroom with a trained
coaching teacher before their student teaching experience.

Receive a full semester of student teaching experience following the TOTAL semester. You may choose where you would like to complete your student teaching experience.
Have the opportunity to personally experience another culture through international student teaching programs or experience student teaching on an Indian Reservation in the far west.
Have the opportunity to add additional areas to your initial teaching license through our "pathway" options. These include early childhood minor, reading minor, English as a new language, middle school math endorsement and special education major.
As a graduate student in one of our programs you will have the opportunity to choose between completing a Masters in Elementary Education or Special Education. Please click on the "Programs" link on the left for more information.
