The Department of CIMT offers professional courses needed in the preparation of all grade, junior high/middle school, and senior high teachers. Please visit each area to find out more.
Students entering the teacher education program will be under these program requirements. An advising guide is available for the 5-12 grade licensure as well as the P-12 or all grade licensure.
Two different participation experiences will be required to meet state requirements. These Field Experiences will be part of the requirements for courses in Phase I and Phase II.
A sixteen week student teaching experience will be completed by the teaching candidate during a professional semester.
Indiana Teaching License Tests are a requirement to be recommended for licensure.
Transition to Teaching
Indiana's State Legislation developed the Transition to Teaching program to provide individuals with a college degree in a content discipline to prepare for the profession of teaching at the K-12 levels.
