MASTER OF EDUCATION IN CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION
The M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction will serve the needs of individuals desiring a master’s degree designed to (1) develop leadership skills in instruction and curriculum planning in educational settings in schools, community or technical colleges, business and industry, health services, and other social agencies and/or (2) satisfy requirements for the Indiana Professional License in senior high-junior high/middle school, secondary, junior high/middle school, or all grade education. Those individuals desiring the Professional License must also hold the Indiana Standard Teaching License and complete a minimum of five years of teaching experience in accredited schools.
Applicants seeking admission to the M.Ed. program in Curriculum and Instruction must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. A minimum grade point average of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale is required for all graduate courses taken at the graduate level at all schools attended.

Program Outline and Representative Courses for the M.Ed. Degree in
Curriculum and Instruction
33 Semester Hour Minimum
18 semester hours must be completed in either professional education or in
an area of endorsement.
Individual programs may be mutually conceptualized by the student and the
advisor.
PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION:(15 HRS)
CULMINATING EXPERIENCE: Complete CIMT 775 in last 12 hours of degree and after the 15 hrs in professional education listed above are completed.

Note: Professionalizing a Rules 46 & 47 license requires designation of the major and minor and prescribes a specific number of hours that must be completed. Professionalizing the Rules 2002 license requires completion of the master’s degree only.
Students choosing to professionalize Rules 46 & 47 license will take a min. of 6 hrs in the major and 12 hours in the minor depending on the licensure area targeted. A minimum of 15 hours must be completed in the Concentration Area.
