Admission Requirements for the school psychology program

Indiana State University is dedicated to admitting students whose likelihood of success is greatest, both during graduate study and throughout their professional careers. Admission to the program represents a major commitment for the University and for the student. The school psychology faculty encourages applications from those who are seriously committed to careers in professional psychology. Therefore, several basic guidelines have been established for admission:

►  Completion of the on-line application to the College of Graduate and Professional Studies and payment of $35 fee
A personal resume and statement of the student's objectives in seeking this degree are requested
Three letters of recommendation supporting the student's application materials
Have earned a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 2.70 in all undergraduate coursework
Have earned a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 on all graduate course work
Completion and submission of official scores from the General Test of the Graduate Record Examinations

Students with strong credentials may be considered for admission even if one of these requirements is slightly below the standard. Admission to the school psychology program requires the approval of the departmental admissions committee. It should not be assumed that meeting minimal standards guarantees admission to the program.
