Project PRE: Partnering to Reform Education
Science Workshops
The Summer 2005 Science Teacher Academy workshops were offered
on the ISU campus during June and July. The workshops were taught by ISU faculty, Stephen Moore, Instructor,
Science Education, Dr. Meredith Beilfuss, Asst. Professor, Science Education, and Karen Henman, Science Educator at Woodrow
Wilson Middle School. 81 area K-12 teachers participated in one or more of five workshop modules. The modules were designed to provide
instruction in content knowledge and pedagogical strategies all linked to appropriate Indiana content standards and grade levels.
The Science workshop modules were titled:
- Physical Environment, Grades K-6
- Scientific Thinking, Grades K-6
- Physical Environment, Grades 6-8
- Biology, Grades 9-12
- Living Environment, Grades K-6
